"I Lose Myself," a danceable, 80s-inspired anthem co-produced by Lapel herself, explores the question: when we get lost in the oblivion of sex and romantic recklessness, and the fear and self judgment that may come with it, can we be comfortable, and even celebratory, in that gray space? The song's analog synths, Robyn-esque dance beats, and huge glittery choruses emulate the joy that can come with going against the types of sexual encounters women are historically "supposed" to have.
